A CLOSER LOOK

What you can do with Geocoding.

See how each feature works.

  1. Address-based lookup

Submit an address to request the coordinates available from the provider.

  2. Country context

Supply the required two-letter country code alongside the address.

  3. Defined address input

The current contract accepts an address between 5 and 500 characters.

  4. Optional coordinate comparison

Include latitude and longitude together when your approved workflow needs the documented comparison option.

  5. A reference for the lookup

Use a verification reference to connect the geocoding result to your source record.

FROM REQUEST TO REVIEW

A clear path through the process.

  1. Prepare the address

Collect a sufficiently complete address and the required country code.

  2. Run the lookup

Submit the address and, if needed, both optional comparison coordinates.

  3. Review before using

Check the returned location against the original address and your intended purpose.

FOR YOUR DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Take the next step with the right details.

See the documentation for request fields, responses and setup instructions.

  • Check the published inputs, response format and error handling.
  • Keep credentials on your server and collect only authorised data.
  • Confirm provider access and deployment requirements with BankU.

Geocoding provides geographic context. Coverage and precision vary, and results should be reviewed before they are used for consequential decisions.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you get started.

Common questions about Geocoding.

Is geocoding an address-verification certificate?

No. It resolves a supplied address into available coordinates. It does not prove residence, ownership or deliverability.

Can I submit only one comparison coordinate?

No. The current contract requires optional latitude and longitude to be supplied together.

Will it always return a precise building location?

No precision guarantee is made here. Results depend on address quality and the provider's available geographic data.
